Q: How often should my carpets be cleaned?

A: It depends on how much traffic you have.  If your home has a lot of traffic, you should clean your carpet every 6-12 months.  Pets add a lot of dirt to your floors, too. Remember, your carpet looks great and lasts for years to come if you maintain it annually.

Q: What does TLCC use to clean carpets?

A: We use a method called hot water extraction, commonly known as “steam cleaning.”  Our 200 degree hot water and our carpet detergent break down the dirt and soils in your carpet.  Then we extract dirt and soiling away, leaving your carpet fresh and clean.

Q: Can I rent one of those “cleaning machines” from the grocery store and do it myself?

A: Of course you can.  How much time will you spend using one of those machines on your hands and knees? Don’t forget the extra bottles of solution you’ll need for specific areas, carpet types, and really tough stains. Is the time and money spent really worth it when Tread Lightly Carpet Care can do the same job in less time at a much higher quality?

Q: I’ve heard that after a carpet is cleaned, it becomes dirty too quickly. Why?

A: If your machine isn’t very powerful (like portable units), the cleaner leaves residue behind. Tread Lightly’s heavy-duty cleaning system is strong enough to extract the soils and rinsing agents, leaving your home with a fresh, clean appearance.

Q: How long will it take for my carpet to dry?

A: The average time is between 3-4 hours. If you use A/C, it takes less dry time because of the dry air. If you use an evaporative cooler, your carpet may have a longer dry time of up to 5 hours or more (depending on humidity).
